DEEB WEAVER

ERIC

Eric Deeb Weaver is a director, choreographer, and actor dedicated to creating bold, dynamic, and emotionally resonant musical theatre. With a career spanning 20 years, he has directed and choreographed productions ranging from intimate cabarets to large-scale productions, always prioritizing storytelling, movement, and the actor’s perspective—while never forgetting to create as much joy as possible!

Originally from San Diego, CA, Eric found his passion for theatre at the age of 8 and thrived in his schools’ arts programs. He went on to earn a B.A. in Drama with Honors in Musical Theatre from the University of California, Irvine, working professionally throughout college before moving to NYC. For over a decade, he performed nationally and internationally as a member of Actors’ Equity Association, appearing in national tours, regional theaters, and on cruise lines.

Now based in Buffalo, NY, Eric has been deeply involved in the city’s vibrant theatre scene, both onstage and as a director and choreographer. Most recently, he helmed the massive production of Disney’s Newsies as director/choreographer at Shea’s 710 with The Kavinoky Theatre, and directed the powerfully intimate The Last Five Years at MusicalFare Theatre. Passionate about arts education, he also teaches at all levels, leading masterclasses for adults, dance classes for youth, guest directing at the university level, and offering private instruction.

With a background as a performer, Eric brings an empathetic and actor-focused approach to direction, ensuring every artist feels empowered, prepared, and inspired to deliver their best work. Whether crafting high-energy dance numbers, guiding nuanced character development, or leading full-scale major productions, he believes in the transformative power of theatre to connect, challenge, and uplift both artists and audiences. His guiding principles of leading with kindness, being prepared, and fostering collaboration ensure that every creative process is welcoming, inclusive, and driven toward the best possible artistic outcome.

When not directing, choreographing, or performing, Eric serves as the Development Associate at MusicalFare Theatre, proudly contributing to the growth and sustainability of Buffalo’s thriving theatre community!
